Ms. Jones has extensive litigation experience representing clients in single-plaintiff and class action matters in federal and state courts. Her extensive litigation experience encompasses case development and strategy, discovery, case team management, drafting case dispositive motions, pre-trial and post-trial motions, overseeing complex multi-district and third-party discovery, and settlement negotiations.
With a proven track record, she routinely defends clients against claims asserting breach of contract, fraud, negligence, unfair and deceptive practices, and violation of federal consumer protection statutes. She has also handled jurisdictional disputes and title issues and helped secure an appellate victory for a national bank defending against a negligence suit brought by a consumer duped by a fraudster.
Ms. Jones is well-versed in handling appeals in both federal and state courts, holding admissions to the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Third, Fifth, Seventh, and Federal Circuits. Additionally, she brings significant expertise in intellectual property disputes, including in patent and trade secret litigation within the biotechnology sector.
Beyond her legal practice, she dedicates her time to pro bono work for Houston Volunteer Lawyers and Disability Rights Texas, further showcasing her commitment to making a positive impact in the community. She is also part of the leadership team of the Bright Star Chapter of National Charity League, Inc., and served on its Board of Directors for three years. As a member of Bright Star, she supports local and national philanthropic partners through community service and helps young women develop leadership skills.
Ms. Jones received her B.S., magna cum laude, in Genetics from Texas A&M University in 1992 and received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1995, where she served as Chief Articles Editor for the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal.
